      Our Heros

      David Boreanaz

      Angel -- David Boreanaz

Unique among his own kind, Angel is a vampire with a soul and a conscience. But one is the loneliest number and not even true love can overcome all obstacles. In Los Angeles, Angel has a chance to help others -- and maybe wash a few stains off his own soul in the process. The Powers That Be drafted him into the good fight, but never manage to give him a straight answer. They gave him a promise of "shanshu" -- another chance at life -- but he may have blown that by going psycho when his creator Darla returned to the land of the living (um, the undead?). He's got a lot of atoning to do yet, and the death of his True Love is not going to help the situation....

David Boreanaz graduated from Ithaca College in New York and announced he wanted to pursue a career in acting. His father, a weather forecaster in Philadelphia got in the car with him and the two of them spent a week driving to Los Angeles. His sister Beth is a production coordinator for the "Rosie O'Donnell Show" and his sister Bo is a costume designer whose work can be seen in 'Escape from L.A.' and 'Barton Fink', among others. Prior to Buffy, David guest starred on "Married... With Children" (1993, episode 'The Movie Show') and "Men Don't Lie", as well as appearing in several films, including 'Best of the Best II' and 'Aspen Extreme'. As with all actors, he's also been seen parking cars at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, handing out towels at a gym, and doing commercials from time to time. Some of David's other interests include golf, baseball, football, bungee jumping, tennis, skiing, harmonica, and his dog, Bertha Blue. His latest project was Valentine, playing a (formerly) nerdy college student who is the victim of a vicious practical joke by four women, and is now successful, charismatic, handsome and looking for revenge.

      Charisma Carpenter

      Cordelia Chase -- Charisma Carpenter

Queen Cordy expected that the entire world would continue to revolve around her, the way it always had. A series of reality crashes landed her broke in L.A., but she reinvented herself as the self-appointed general office manager of Angel Investigations. An unwanted sideline to that job is her role as Angel's connection to TPTB, since she inherited Doyle's migraines with pictures when he died. She put up with it reluctantly until the misery of millions poured into her head made her realize exactly how many people needed help. Now she's fighting evil on the front lines rather than the side lines -- unless there's a shoe sale at Nordstrom's...

Charisma Carpenter didn't intend to be an actress. A classically-trained dancer, she was once a San Diego Charger Girl cheerleader, and worked as an aerobics instructor to support herself through school. But when she was spotted by a commercial agent (while waiting tables in L.A.), a new career followed. A veteran of 20 TV ads (including a Secret anti-perspirant spot which ran for two years), Charisma's first big TV break came when she made a guest appearance on "Baywatch." She secured a talent agent the very next day. She then auditioned for television heavyweight Aaron Spelling, and won the role of Ashley in "Malibu Shores." She auditioned for the role of Buffy before being cast as Cordelia.

      Alexis Denisof

      Wesley Wyndham-Pryce -- Alexis Denisof

Ex-Watcher Wesley Wyndham-Price had a hell of a year in Sunnydale, beginning with fighting a Mayor-snake and ending with facing a bomb in Angel's weapons cabinet. In between those two events, he got fired by the Watcher Council, took on a new identity as a rogue demon hunter, had the stuffing beaten out of him by Faith, his former Slayer, and, not incidentally, got a job working for Angel. Whe Angel later walked out on the office and his friends, he found himself in charge of Angel Investigations -- and found himself good at the job.

Born in Maryland to the son of Russian immigrants and the daughter of an old Main Line Philadelphia family, Denisof spent his childhood with his mother in Seattle, then attended boarding school in New Hampshire. After high school, he went off to explore Europe and wound up in London, where he more-or-less accidentally wound up training at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. After fifteen years acting in the U.K. (including starring with Anthony Stewart Head in a 1993 production of Rope), he returned to the States and began filming there, first a TV pilot, then projects including the TV miniseries Noah's Ark, First Knight, an episode of Highlander and several of the Sharpe's movie series. He then landed the role of Wesley on Buffy, originally to be killed after two episodes. Needless to say, Joss changed his mind.

      J. August Richards

Charles Gunn -- J. August Richards

Gunn was fighting the good fight against vampires when his world got turned upside down; his sister was forcibly turned and Gunn had to kill her. Only slightly less shocking was the news that there was a vampire out there who wasn't evil, and who was fighting exactly the same sort of scum Gunn was: Angel. With his street-smarts and laid-back attitude, Gunn handles pretty much everything that gets thrown his way in his own way. He's loyal to his friends at Angel investigations, even when that means pulling further away from his gang on the street.

      J. August changed his name at age 14 since no one could pronounce his given names (Jaime Augusto). The son of two native Panamanians, the 26-year-old University of Southern California graduate describes himself as obsessive in his research for roles. He has appeared on "Sliders" and "The West Wing," along with "Moesha", "Nash Bridges", "Chicago Hope" and "Nash Bridges", and TV movies including The Temptations, Mutiny, and Running Mates.
