David Boreanaz graduated from Ithaca College in New York and announced he wanted to pursue a career in acting. His father, a weather forecaster in Philadelphia got in the car with him and the two of them spent a week driving to Los Angeles. His sister Beth is a production coordinator for the "Rosie O'Donnell Show" and his sister Bo is a costume designer whose work can be seen in 'Escape from L.A.' and 'Barton Fink', among others. Prior to Buffy, David guest starred on "Married... With Children" (1993, episode 'The Movie Show') and "Men Don't Lie", as well as appearing in several films, including 'Best of the Best II' and 'Aspen Extreme'. As with all actors, he's also been seen parking cars at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, handing out towels at a gym, and doing commercials from time to time. Some of David's other interests include golf, baseball, football, bungee jumping, tennis, skiing, harmonica, and his dog, Bertha Blue. His latest project was Valentine, playing a (formerly) nerdy college student who is the victim of a vicious practical joke by four women, and is now successful, charismatic, handsome and looking for revenge.
Charisma Carpenter didn't intend to be an actress. A classically-trained dancer, she was once a San Diego Charger Girl cheerleader, and worked as an aerobics instructor to support herself through school. But when she was spotted by a commercial agent (while waiting tables in L.A.), a new career followed. A veteran of 20 TV ads (including a Secret anti-perspirant spot which ran for two years), Charisma's first big TV break came when she made a guest appearance on "Baywatch." She secured a talent agent the very next day. She then auditioned for television heavyweight Aaron Spelling, and won the role of Ashley in "Malibu Shores." She auditioned for the role of Buffy before being cast as Cordelia.
Born in Maryland to the son of Russian immigrants and the daughter of an old Main Line Philadelphia family, Denisof spent his childhood with his mother in Seattle, then attended boarding school in New Hampshire. After high school, he went off to explore Europe and wound up in London, where he more-or-less accidentally wound up training at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. After fifteen years acting in the U.K. (including starring with Anthony Stewart Head in a 1993 production of Rope), he returned to the States and began filming there, first a TV pilot, then projects including the TV miniseries Noah's Ark, First Knight, an episode of Highlander and several of the Sharpe's movie series. He then landed the role of Wesley on Buffy, originally to be killed after two episodes. Needless to say, Joss changed his mind.
